Knopf in 1981. it is in good condition. The mylar cover protects the DJ designed by R. D. Scudellari's which has several small chips at the top and bottom edge of the DJ spine as well as a small tear at the bottom left corner edge. The front and back cloth boards are has some soiling on the lower shelf edge. The back side of boards along the crease is not tight though the rest of the spine is tight. The top of the 306-page edges is stained purple, matching the dark purple in the dust jacket illustration. The side and bottom pages are rough cut with several spots of discoloration. In spite of its "flaws" the book is in good condition overall and would certainly be acceptable for a beginning collector of Toni Morrison's incredible catalogue of her life-long work. Check the photos to examine the extent of damage described.
