It was first published as a seven-part serial in the magazine Argosy All-Story Weekly for February 2, 9, 16 and 23 and March 1, 8 and 15, 1924. In an unknown region of Africa, Tarzan crashes his plane and is captured by a member of a violent speechless race of humans with a matriarchal stone age culture. He escapes and encounters a race 18-inch tall Ant Men whose advanced civilization possesses some advanced science.
