Description: This is the December 1928 issue of The American Magazine. It features a painted cover by David Robinson of two young children looking at a wide variety of toys in a store window. In addition, some of the articles/features found in the magazine (but certainly not all!) are listed on the cover. The issue contains a mix of fiction by leading authors (The Bishop Murder Case by S.S. Van Dine), non-fiction articles (President Wilson), and features (see photos). There are black & white illustrations, black & white and sepia-colored photographs and a wide array of vintage advertisements (both black & white and color). The magazine contains 172 pages and measures approximately 8.75 x 11.5 inches. The issue is quite heavy; therefore the shipping cost is higher than normal. (You will see my thumb in nearly every photo – holding the magazine so that it doesn’t close. That's because the magazine – while decades old – is in great condition and likely hasn't been opened since the first owner looked at it all those years ago!)
