Description: This is an original yearbook from the Class of 1944 at Monessen High School in Monessen, PA. Featuring hundreds of great photos of the school and the personnel & student body, this book serves as a nice time capsule of life at the school in the '40s. Additionally, there are several pages of ads for local businesses--many of which now exist only in memories--from when the city was booming. The copy being offered is in fair condition overall. A previous owner placed several sheets of fabric softener inside the book, resulting in a pronounced--though not overpowering--fabric softener smell throughout the book, along with a few instances of fabric softener residue being left behind on the pages. One such occurrence of residue is shown in my 6th photo, and another occurs inside the back cover. As seen in my first three photos, the covers have fairly light wear. Inside, the pages are crisp, mostly clean, and fairly strongly bound, although one sheet containing 2 pages of senior photos is completely detached from the binding but is still present (see this in my 8th photo). Also, all pages have some wrinkling and rippling along the top edge, likely resulting from contact with water. I did not see any marking or writing; if any exists, it certainly isn't much.
