Includes Apocrypha and concordance. Indexed. This very large, very heavy copy measures 15.25" tall x 10" wide x 3.25" thick and is almost 13 lbs. Hardcover. Bound in full brown leather. Covers are plain. Hubbed spine bears six raised bands with a red label stamped in gilt lettering. Beautifully and heavily illustrated with approximately 105 full page engraved plates in black and white throughout. Frontispiece is a lovely engraving of Adam and Eve with the serpent, the Grand Design of God, and the death and meritorious sufferings of Jesus Christ. Dual columned. Old Testament and commentary is 820 pages. The Apocrypha follows the Old Testament and is paginated separately with 128 pages. The New Testament and commentary follows the Apocrypha and resumes pagination at 821, to the copy's conclusion at page 1078. CONDITION: Overall VG, with expected wear for its age at over 200 years old. External cover also shows some erosion of the leather at the corners and edges, along with some scratching. Inner hinges have cracked, yet boards are still affixed. The spine is somewhat brittle yet has kept its form, and the red label is still firmly attached. Lacks first page of the preface and last page of index. Completely unmarked except for a previous owner's name written in ink from the period on the reverse side of the title page, and annotation also from the period, on the last flyleaf. Engravings are absolutely magnificent. A very nice, heirloom worthy copy. At almost 13 lbs., due to this copy's size and weight, an additional shipping charge will likely apply.
