Description: This is a true first edition of "The Rustlers of West Fork" by Louis L'Amour. The book is in hardcover and was printed by Doubleday & Company in 1951. The story is a Western classic featuring the character Hopalong Cassidy. The book has been previously owned and is in great shape. It has a very nice photocopy of the original dust jacket and is ex-library, but it has not been personalized or signed. Louis L'Amour wrote four Hopalong Cassidy novels in the early 1950s under contract to Doubleday. This was the first of the four. Then Bill Boyd complained that they were too rough (Hopalong chewed tobacco and drank in them), and Doubleday forced Louis to calm down the character. Since he had signed a contract, Mr. L'Amour did so, but until his dying day, he always denied that he had written them. You will not find a copy that has been signed by him. Comes from a smoke free, pet free home, so no unexpected odors. Comes in an archival quality bag where it has been kept for over 25 years.I recently moved and must downsize my collection. My loss is your gain!
