Description: I went to an auction of the movie memorabilia collection of Buddy Daniels, resident of Newton, Kansas back in 2010 shortly after this avid movie memorabilia collector passed. It was a great auction. I actually lost track of a number of things I had purchased that day until I came across them recently in a sealed box in my garage. This is an original 9" x 15" (approximately) two sided poster for the 1926 film The Unknown Soldier directed by Renaud Hoffman. Starring Charles Emmett Mack, Marguerite De La Motte and Henry B. Walthall. Other than a vertical fold about halfway down the poster, the poster is in nice condition. It was produced for a 3-day showing at the New Logan Theatre at Oliver and West Broadway in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I love doing my homework and I learned after doing a bit of research that this theatre still exists. The theatre opened as the Logan Theatre in 1927. It was renamed Paradise Theatre by June 1930. It was renovated in 1933 to the plans of architectural firm Liebenberg & Kaplan. On April 20, 1966 it became the Capri Theatre. It is located on Broadway in north Minneapolis. It has been “re-purposed” and was operated as a dance studio. The Capri Theatre was reopened on October 3, 2021 as a concert venue & movie theatre. Nice designs on both sides. I am a member of eMoviePoster.com. I realize the value in a number of older posters, particularly when they are still in nice condition. Not really sure if this was handed out at the theatre to patrons seeing the movie before The Unknown Soldier played. It most likely was not used on telephone poles or windows as it is two-sided. Regardless, enjoy... I cannot find a similar item on eMoviePoster.com, so please don't get too concerned over the asking price. Will be shipped with cardboard. Be sure to offer me a reasonable price for the poster if you are interested.
