Description: This copy of The Zenith, yearbook for 1932 at High Point College (High Point, North Carolina), is in remarkably fine condition, with no tears, rips, missing pages or photos. Its only flaws are on the cover, where some of the gold has been abraded, and there are several dark spots in the gold; these seem rather minor. High Point College was founded in 1924 (affiliated with the Methodist Church), and became a University in 1991. Current enrollment is about 4600 students. As for the cover, it illustrates fully the theme of this year's annual, which is Music. By enlarging the photo of the cover you can see the notes that are stamped into the cover; the Ex Libris page shows a harpist bent over her instrument; the title page includes a lady harpist along with other musical instruments. Additionally, there are full-page portraits of classical composers that introduce the various sections. There are six pages of photos of various buildings on the campus. Measures 10.75 X 8.5 inches, with 116 pages plus six pages of advertisements. Beautiful red/gold end pages front and back. Shown in the pictures above are just one page of each class, there are 12 senior pages, 4 junior pages, 4 sophomore pages, 5 freshman pages, and two pages of "special" students (not sure what that means). The sections are Faculty, the classes, sports, clubs, fraternities and sororities, musical groups, and miscellaneous pictures of activities. The final picture above, which shows a building with a steeple, includes the cost: "$380.00 covers cost of matriculation, room and board.": pretty amazing...but that would have been a lot in 1932. (Current tuition listed at ca. $54,750.00.)
