Description: Theatrically Gay -- the "Mad About the Boy Collection": three CDs benefitting "Broadway Cares...," produced by Chip Deffaa.... On these three CD's with a "gay love" theme, you'll hear some wonderful Broadway performers--straight and gay alike--including Terri White, Santino Fontana, Kristy Cates, John Tartaglia, Seth Sikes, Stephen Bogardus, Barret Foa, Timothy Britten Parker, Jon Peterson, Matt Nardozzi, Samantha Soule, Charlie Franklin, Jamie Laverdier, Eric Anthony... with a special cameo guest contribution or two from the late, legendary Carol Channing.... Ten percent of all revenues go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. These three CDs are an outgrowth of revues celebrating gay love, created by ASCAP Award-winner Chip Deffaa. They were born in the Chip Deffaa Invitational Theater Festival, which presented more than two dozen shows on 42nd Street in a six-week period (and benefitted Broadway Cares). And the revues were subsequently further developed at New York's 13th Street Theater. The first CD, "Chip Deffaa's Mad About the Boy: the Classic Gay Musical Revue," features stars of the original festival production plus some very special guests. This revue went on to break box-office records at the 13th Street Theater. The second CD is a cast recording of Chip Deffaa's musical comedy "Theater Boys" (hailed by one reviewer as "the most entertaining gay musical in year"), starring David Cronin (who won a best-in-festival award for his work in this show when it was produced at the Fresh Fruit Festival; it went on to have a hit theatrical production at the 13th Street Theater. The third CD, "Chip Deffaa's The Boy Next Door," features rising newcomer Ellis Gage heading an all-star cast.
