Description: Thorens TD 165 complete turntable equipped with Weathers tone arm and Ortofon OM10 stylus This vintage turntable by Thorens features a Weathers Universal Tone Arm and comes equipped with an Ortofon OM10 Cartridge. The brand Thorens is known for its durable and reliable products, while Weathers is the groundbreaking introducer of the audiophile tone arm. This is a clean unit, but shows signs of use. Upon testing, the motor works fine, the platter spins freely and the suspension floats it airily above the plinth. The leads to the cartridge are not connected and a couple of them look like they may need to be replaced. The stylus looks worn. The dustcover is cracked at the rear hinge (see photos) and show heavy wear. The straight pin in the photo is only there to hold up the cover for the photo. If you want it, though, just let me know ;-) The original; base is showing signs of age, especially near the hinge, where the laminate is wrinkling and the dust cover hinge pin is missing. One of the transport screws no longer functions, but is included. The short audio leads and the washer were found with the player so will be included, though I don’t think they are necessary parts.
