Description: Offered here is a vintage classic Children's Nickel Magazine: "Tip Top Weekly No. 538", "Frank Merriwell's Spook Hunters Or, The Mysterious Island Of Mad Lake", August 4, 1906 , approx. 10 7/8" X 8 3/8", Published by Street & Smith, New York. Issued weekly. In over-all fair to good condition, the covers are separated from the bottom staple down, there are tiny chips and dark damp stains on the right edge as seen that go into the book but not through; top staple is lost - chips where it was more obvious on the back scan. h - internal oxidation. VERY THIN paper, dark stain at the bottom right corner as seen. Came from the original family - purchased from a gentlemen whose great grandfather owned these originally. MANY of these early one have issues with the left side corners. I really believed they were clipped back in the day - maybe remainder stock?? Strange that the same exact corners on each one seem clipped.
