She has an M.B.A and an M.S. in Education. In 2007, she received the Marian and Speros Martel Early Childhood Educator of the Year Award from the Childrens Museum of Houston. Her husband Gene passed away in 2020. Mrs. Hult lives in Clear Lake City, Houston. Her grandmothers love of Texas prompted her to write this book on Texas heroes.
