Description: Set of TWO antique handheld cranberry harvesting rakes / scoops from Cape Cod. Made by A.D. Makepeace Co. of West Barnstable, Massachusetts. (They’re now located in Wareham, MA and one of the world’s largest cranberry producers.) Patent dates on the one surviving label look like late 1800s to early 1900s, making these over 100 years old. Each is approximately 8x8x3” CONDITION: Please note that these are definitely antique & were clearly LOVED & USED! They will be packed with care and lots of protection. - One of the rakes has part of the original label, one full metal spring & one partial. The hinges are still attached and in working order. Leather looking material is frayed/broken. Stamped “0116” - the other rake is missing its label but has multiple carvings of names/initials on its sides. One hinge is attached and the other side is missing its hinge. Leather looking material is frayed/broken. Stamped “041”
