Description: These two hardback books were both published in London during the Cold War and are both about the geography of the Soviet Union. Both have matching copyright and publication dates and, with no later printing stated, they are both presumed to be first editions. In the order shown in the pictures, they are: "Geography of the USSR" by R. E. H. Mellor, 403 pages, dated 1964, published by Macmillan & Company, measures about 6-1/4" x 9". "A Geography of the USSR - The Background to a Planned Economy" by J. P. Cole and F. C. German, 290 pages, dated 1961, published by Butterworths, measures about 6-1/2" x 10." The books are both in solid and functional condition, with the bindings nice and tight, and just typical wear to the covers. They both have ownership inscriptions on their front free end papers, however, and both books have some text underlinings and margin marks.
