Description: Dual coil setup kit for use with the 120/240vac GTIL. This does NOT come with the inverter. Think of this listing is an adapter to make this incredible inverter to function properly in USA, Canada, all of North and South America. I do not sell (but I use and install) the inverters. When you purchase this inverter, it comes with only one coil system, so you can only monitor one cable of the 2 cable circuit! Using the included single coil, you will under-run or over-run your Electric Utility Meter. Feeding back through the smart meter is dangerous, and you pay for electricity both directions with a smart meter, and would likely trigger a tamper bit flag back to your electric company's operation center. I solved the problem and now offering the solution, and makes it compatible with the standard smart meter! You do not need to rent a net meter from the power company, saving you $40-60 a month. The cable pays for itself in 2-3 months, and continues to save afterwards. This is made in the USA! NOTE: Always place sign on load center breaker box "PV SYSTEM DISCONNECT FOR UTILITY OPERATION" and clearly label your breaker feeding the inverter or sub-panel connected to the inverter that is inside the unlocked lid. The limiter cable is a special 2 coil electronically calibrated cable with a circuit to always allow approximately 7 watts down, and TWO coils to monitor the standard unbalanced load. This China engineering simply does not work correctly unless you monitor each side. USA uses 240vac single phase in homes, and splits it into 120v after the meter using the neutral or common center tap. So if you have a 1000w or 2000w 120/240vac GTIL as pictured, this is a must have. If you have one or more 120v models (it's likely a 120/240vac dual model), we have a dual inverter model, so you don't need two cables. We also have longer cables too! They want $55 for an additional coil, but there is nowhere to plug it in. I engineered, tested, and manufactured this cable. It comes in four versions, a 10 foot cable, a 20 foot cable a 40 foot cable, a 100 foot cable. Also a version for two inverters, which has the two special connectors, which are 3 feet long added length. The standard coil's opening is about 1/2 inch (13mm), which works for 1/0 THHN cable, or 150 amp service or smaller. If you have 200 amp service, you may have 3/0 or 4/0, and the standard coil will not fit. We now have a new 3/4 inch (19mm) larger coil. The larger coils are more sensitive to wire diameter, so these are calibrated to under run the meter 40-90 watts, depending on wire diameter. (this means there is always load from the grid, to assure no back feeding) The large coils will not fit in some meter panels, as they are aprox 2 inches square. Please measure service wire before ordering, Suggest to always order the smaller, standard coil if it will fit, and saves money. Returns only if defective. The coils are fragile and care must be taken. No returns on broken coils. If the instructions that are included are followed, the work beautifully. If approved, I can do a one time courtesy return, but must deduct 20% for eBay and other costs from a refund. Be sure you measure and order the correct cable! N E W : Due to High number of questions about the GTIL power cord included with the inverter, I have constructed a better ac power cord with the corrected connections (oem cable is wrong). If you use the cord that comes with the inverter, it could cut your efficiency by 60%, and will backfeed to the grid costing $! This cable is designed to go from the 240vac output to a 20/30 amp house double pole (220v) circuit breaker. 6 Feet in Length. Typically, the cables included for Inverters are not the correct ones. They have light gauge wire, and often are wired for a 120v usa outlet. If you use the cable provided (It's just a computer power supply cable with 18 gauge wire) you will only be supplying power to half the breaker box, and heats up. You could double the output of the inverter by upgrading. These cables are premium power cables with heavy insulation, and 12 awg wire! Chances are, you will need this cable also, if you add it to your order, you will get combined shipping discount. Just add both to your cart, then checkout. It is listed as the last option on cable size of the cables/coils UPDATE: Starting 5/17/2020 All standard coils will come as the pro model. The pro model has an adjustable calibration to fine tune your limiter. You will need to identify the real time scrolled reading from your smart meter as a calibration source. If that is not available, a split phase watt meter is needed. It comes preset at the standard calibration, as the non-pro model. Instructions included. If you need to update your coils, please contact me for details. UPDATE: Now over 300 satisfied dual coil customers, 99% positive feedback, 5 star ebayer, over 2500 transactions! UPDATE: We now have added support for some other Chinese 1500-5000w Grid tie limiting inverters. I may need you to mail the oem cable, so I can get the calibration correct, and in some cases reuse the proprietary Chinese plug. I will return the old and new cable back to you. Or, I can ship the cable pre-stripped and solder tinned. Just cut your oem cable coil off and wire nut the new cable to the oem. UPDATE: Due to several requests we made up some Limiter coil extension cables, Male-Female to extend the coil(s). However, there is no calibration, and extending the coil over 20 feet is not recommended without calibration. UPDATE: I now have splitter cables that connect a second inverter, In case you already add an inverter and already have the cable. Available on drop down. UPDATE: The most common mistake people make is trying to connect a single or dual GTIL inverter power cable to 120v. Your smart meter provided by the utility company does not use the common/neutral white cable. Limiting inverters need to talk the same language (waveform) as the smart meter for best results. Recommend upgrading the power cable, and hardwire to a 20/30 amp breaker. Also a dual coil monitoring cable to see the complete waveform. UPDATE: I no longer offer single coils for the USA. People are always having trouble understanding the smart meters use both legs, L1 and L2. and do not use split phase 120v in there operation. Because L1 and L2 to neutral or common are 120vac, people do not commonly know, they are 180 degrees out of phase. Two coils are always needed to prevent accidental (and expensive) feedback to grid through a smart meter. Single coils work fine in Europe, Asia, and some other countries who use full phase 240v btw. UPDATE: We continue to perfect the coil cable and am on version 3.0. A buyer tried to reverse engineer my version 1.0 coil, and is selling a small coil calibrated for a particular length for a little less. Beware: It will not work as well, and could make you smart meter feed back to the grid, costing $. If you purchase from me, you are getting it direct from the inventor, engineer, and college electronics professor, that can support you. : )
