Description: US M1892 Krag Bayonet Rare First Type First Issue Scabbard 1895 Span Am War This is the rarest first type scabbard with a correct date bayonet. In this early scabbard the bayonet will only completely slide in, in one direction (see last photo thats as far as it goes in). The top of the belt hook is square cut and the hook will rotate 360. These characteristics were deemed undesirable and eliminated in future designs. The pin holding the belt hook is a bit loose from use but intact, so if you are an advanced collector you will recognize that this is a rare and hard to find bayonet and scabbard with these characteristics in this condition.
