Description: This Miller's Falls #980 2 speed hand drill is in very good condition. Fully functional. It is a very early version. Made in Miller's Falls, Mass. The information I found on the internet states "Two other popular products for the company that year (1868) were a hollow wooden handle that was filled with a number of bits that fit into the handle's chuck, drills, screwdrivers, etc....". This drill has (5) drill bits in the handle. No marks that I could see but I did not try to clean them. Also, they are heavier than most bits now days. The company moved to Greenfield, Mass shortly after 1868. Unique beautiful antique tool. Total length 16 inches. I know there are tool collectors that that know much more than I do about this company. If you would like to share any information about the age of this tool I would greatly appreciate it.
