Description: This is a rare and cool find. This turn of the century lamp exemplifies the transition from kerosene into that new and modern electric convenience. I love this lamp for that very reason...the wife hates it. It's base is cast metal/ brass plated, and the upper portion is solid brass. The milk glass is hand painted and shows the wear you would expect. C L & G Co and the number 408 is cast into the inside bottom of the base. It stands approximately 18 inches to the top of the glass shade, and the width of the milk glass is 7.75. This Lamp actually works. Only negative, the after-market glass shade is cracked. I bought the glass shade at a lamp store and has nothing to do with its value. It probably wouldn't have survived the shipping anyway. Please see all pictures, because it gives you the best description.
