W.H.S… “WILLIAM HENRY SPARROW “ Anchor, lion,v… Birmingham, 1920 This is a SUPERB VESTA WITH AN UNUSUALLY designed ARCHED SHAPED LID which is in’GREAT CONDITION’ being free from dents, holes & repairs. There are surface signs of ware but nothing at all. The hinge is strong, has a SNAP shut closing action & the lid has a nice tight fit when closed. The recessed strike plate is in GOOD condition. The case is finished with a hinge pin, loop & jump ring for attachment to a fob & Albert chain. It is a highly desirable Vesta case which would compliment any collection! it feels very tactile & chunky to the touch. Overall this item is in GREAT condition being 103 years old which my photographs will confirm. The inside body of the Vesta has a BEAUTIFUL CLEAN GILT interior & in the lid.
