Description: This interesting edition measures 7-1/16 high, 4-7/8 wide and 15/16 inches thick. It was published by London Macmillan & Co. in 1890. The Preface is by Austin Dobson. There are numerous illustrations by Hugh Thomson, the list for which runs 5-1/2 pages! A WorldCat search found only one other copy of this particular edition - in the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel, Germany.Unfortunately, it is in poor, ex-library condition, with cover wear and staining, corner bumping, tears at the top of the spine and slanted binding. Inside, there are stickers from the Washington County Free Library in Hagerstown, MD as well as an embossed stamp for the collection of Robert S. Scott, Lakeside, ILL. Most of the title page content has been traced onto the velum overlay in pencil. This comes from a smoke-free home library.
