Description: Vintage circa 1906-1930 Lenox Demitasse porcelain insert cups in Sterling Silver handled holders with matching saucers, made by Matthews Co. Newark NJ. Each holder and saucer is marked Sterling 51. Set of 10. The holders have a delicate reticulated design with leaf motif. The saucers have a monogram “LPW.” The Lenox porcelain inserts are classic cream color with two gold rims. Each porcelain cup is 2 1/8" (~ 5.25 cm) tall and2 1/4" (~ 5.5 cm) across at the opening. The cup holders are 1-3/4” (~ 4.5cm) in diameter. The saucers are 3-7/16 (~ 8.5cm) in diameter. The cup holders weigh 15 grams and the saucers weigh 21 grams. All sets are in Very Good condition: Clean, Bright and Attractive with great patina on the Sterling holders. The silver has been in storage for many years and has not been polished or buffed. The inserts are in excellent condition, with no chips or nicks, and the gilt rims are bright and unworn.
