Description: Restored vintage Richter guitar. Made in Chicago USA. WATCH VIDEO: https://youtu.be/WMfGvm0L_Vg?feature=shared The Richter guitars are a bit of a mystery. They are assumed to be made in Chicago. Some think they are Harmonys, but I have a supertone roundhole archtop made in the Harmony Factory in the same era, and the bracing and general construction is all different. They are rumored to have had their own factory, but there is little to no info online about that. It is solid wood. I think birch body, poplar neck. Fret board is either poplar or pear wood lacquered black, same with the bridge. Stamped Richter on the neck block. This guitar has had a neck reset plus additional neck work. The fret board was removed and the neck was planed to correct a twist. Original fretboard is reinstalled. Some braces needed repair and reglue. A major finish repair was made on the top. The lower bout treble side of these originally had monograms. A previous owner scratched them out. I painstakingly repaired to finish to make it look as if they never existed. The action is nice and low, and it plays well. It stays in tune, and the intonation is very close. All parts are original. With the exception of the fret marker celluloid dots, the strings, and the case. Case is old and beat up. Beautiful guitar. Very rare find. Not a bad gift option for a vintage guitar lover.
