Description: Vintage 1940s Black Silk Jacquard Full Length Custom Gown Long Sleeve Shear Vintage 1940s Black Silk Jacquard Full Length Custom Gown Long Sleeve Shear Medallions. Here we have a custom made black silk Jacquard full length long sleeve gown dating to the 1940s. The design of the fabric is large scale scattered medallions with leaf like motifs and shear panels. The sleeves each have a slit in the cuff with a metal zipper for closure. There is a center back metal zipper that works well. There are symmetrical large box pleats on either side of the back zipper, extending from the hipline. Two bust darts run almost horizontally on the center front. The interior of the dress features raw edges, indicating that this dress was custom made. There are light shoulder pads. There is a tag sewn into the hem that reads, "Elizabeth Case Original." This dress is in good condition considering its age. There are no major holes, rips, or tears. There is however, the beginnings of a rip at the center front neckline.
