Vintage 1947 Lake Tahoe & Vicinity Map by E.R. Smith / A.C. Hammon Original

Description: Here is a beautiful multi color map of Lake Tahoe & Vicinity that is dated 1947. Artist is George Mathis and map consultant was A.C. Hammon. Printed by Creative Lithograph of Berkeley California. Appears to be created for visitors and locals alike as it lists all of the sites and many businesses of the late 1940s era, including ski resorts, lodging and dining options. Many are noted on the map itself and also on the back side of the map. Notice the large Stateline Casino hotels had yet to be built. Please see photos for details. Very good to excellent condition. Never displayed. Found in rolled up condition and never folded or creased. Very smooth and very clean surface. No writing, tape marks or pin holes. Some edge bumps and small tears and may have some minor damage on side edges from storage. Edges could be covered when framed. Colors are bright as new and appears to have been stored out of any sunlight over the years. No smoke or dirt discoloring to paper and white is bright as new. Please see photos.Measures approx. 22" tall and 17" in width. Note: I have four of these maps in comparable condition available on this listing and would recommend purchasing two if you wish to frame and display together with one side showing in one frame and the back side showing in the other. Would look good with any early Lake Tahoe collections or displayed on a wall in a cabin, lodge or restaurant, etc. in the Tahoe region. I will ship the map rolled within a shipping tube using USPS mail with tracking and insurance. Price includes the purchase of the shipping tube.
