Description: ***********FOR RESTORATION ONLY - The ETA 2472 automatic movement loses about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 43 hour power reserve period. Additionally, the hour hand needs to be reset as it doesn't set correctly. And there is a noticeable vibration felt throughout the watch with each wind of the replacement crown and there is a crunching lettuce sound made after every several winds. Winding slowly helps to limit this crunching sound. Finally, the dial is damaged, the minute and hour hands are replacements and the bezel is missing. A complete restoration is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1967 Bulova Caravelle Sea Hunter M7 diver has a black "T-SWISS MADE-T" signed dial that is in poor, degraded condition with the lume at 9 o'clock having been removed at some point. The lume that remains on the dial and hands emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light. Both the minute and hour hands are replacements. The bezel is missing. The all stainless steel case shows significant wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is faintly stamped "CARAVELLE - STAINLESS STEEL - AUTOMATIC - ANTIMAGNETIC - WATERPROOF - SHOCK RESISTANT" with what appears to be the number "4" stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped "MLB" followed by "665,""CARAVELLE WATCH DIVISION,""BULOVA WATCH Co." and "SWISS." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "CARAVELLE WATCH,""11 OPACD" and "M7" stamped ETA 2472 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function runs strong, albeit a smidge slow, and the date wheel rolls over at approximately 11:59 pm. The hour hand needs to be reset as it doesn't set correctly. The semi-quickset date function works by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the replacement, non-screwdown crown 30 full revolutions the movement ran about 2 minutes slow by the end of its approximate 43 hour power reserve period. The crown winds with tension and there is a noticeable vibration felt throughout the watch with each wind. And there is a crunching lettuce sound made after every several winds of the crown. Winding slowly helps to limit this crunching sound. Given the issues mentioned a complete restoration is required. This watch measures approximately 34 mm excluding the crown, approximately 37 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 7 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9.5 mm.A complete restoration is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
