Description: Crown Corning Hunter 9 ounce wine goblets set of 4 in original packing box. Three of these still have the Crown Corning sticker on the glass, and appear to have been in storage for quite a while. No apparent chips or cracks. Mid-century modern goblets from the 1970s. Short stemware glasses which are stackable with heavy bottoms. Each glass were made in Australia and feature a controlled bubble in the stem. This is decorative barware for champagne or liquor but could also be used for great dessert dishes. Width at rim is 7.25cm (2.85") and height is approximately 12cm (4.75"). Volume is 9 oz (250 ml). Hunter was Crown Corning's top-selling range of glassware in Europe. New technology was developed to produce the Hunter range. It was a challenging design to manufacture because of the complex bowl shape, and the defined foot with a bubble in the centre. Crown Corning were recognised as leaders in Harford technology. The Hunter range of glassware received the Australian Design Award and was exhibited at Biennale Design 98 - Saint-Etienne, France. Designed by Denise Larcombe in 1972. The box measures 7" x 7" x 6", with an overall weight (mostly the glasses) of 1325 grams (roughly 2 pounds 15 ounces). Each glass weighs about 270 grams (over 9.5 ounces), so they come by their description of heavy bottom honestly. Delivery is typically 8 days or less to the US. Tracking number will be provided.
