Description: ***********The manual wind movement runs about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.*********** This vintage 1970's Swank diver has a "FRANCE" only signed dial that has aged naturally over time to a tropical brown hue. If you look closely at the pics you'll see an outline of the hour and minute hands on the dial at approximately 11:23 o'clock, likely from the watch not being used over an extended period of time. The lume no longer glows after being exposed to bright light. The originally black and red bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, has faded significantly. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear with no visible signs of brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL BACK WATERPROOF." The crystal shows scratching. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. The 17 jewels manual wind movement runs strong, albeit fast, and the roulette date wheel rolls over at 12 am. Even dates are in black, odd dates are in red. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 30 full revolutions the movement gained about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. The crown winds buttery smooth. Given that the movement runs fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. A complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking!
