Inside the box there is a removable tray that sits on a shelf , this has a bevelled edge and compartments for different instruments / drawing tools , this leaves a free space underneath . One of the wooden divides is absent in the tray . The entire piece measures 9 inches x 5 inches x 2 inches , and it comes with a hinged lid . A lovely piece which is over 120 years old . Good Luck .
