Description: Lou Virgiel's Book Shop was a stereotypical small bookstore with one overstocked, underlit room that had been located in the Barry Building in Brentwood since the 1960's. It was taken over and renamed Dutton's Brentwood Bookstore in 1986 by Doug Dutton of Dutton's Bookstore which he ran with his brother Dave in North Hollywood. He closed it in 2008 when a new owner of the building announced plans to redevelop the property. This bookmark measures 6 by 1 1/2 inches. It features a drawing of an owl wearing a professors' cap, sitting on a branch and reading a book. It has a book related quote by Thomas Carlyle on one side and by Roy L. Smith on the other side. It has slight age toning and several creases near the top. The front has several tiny beige spots along and near the top edge. The back has beige staining along and near the top edge. This bookmark comes from a smoke and fragrance-free home. It will be well packaged to ensure it arrives safely. Please check out our other bookstore bookmarks. We'll combine shipping.
