Description: These artifacts are all important to and used by people practicing Buddhism. I purchased the Prayer Wheel or Mani Wheel in Kathmandu in 1983 from a street vendor. This would be something found in anyone’s home…one spins the wheel to send one’s prayers away. The wooden block purchased (1985) in Pokhara, Tibet from the carver himself. This is a carved printing block used to print Prayer Flags hanging everywhere of importance. The last piece is a Mandala from Llasa, Tibet which would be hung in one’s home to help the believer find his way to Nirvana.
