Description: Curious Telestar solid-state amp. This is usually a Japanese nameplate, but this one was made in USA. A little more output than a typical bedroom amp, but not quite enough for a gig. One of the most “tubey” ss amps I’ve heard. The breakup is quite creamy and convincing. No, it’s not a Tweed Champ, but it sounds pretty good dimed. Not a lot of high end, so judicious use of an equalizer or overdrive could add a little cutting power. Depth AND rate controls for the tremolo, but the rate ranges from medium to fast. No swampy slow wave. The slightly misaligned knobs are NOT the result of any banging around, but are a function of the odd way the pots are mounted inside the chassis, and not to the faceplate. Cool and interesting amp for a lot less than a tube unit. UPDATE: Ebay now demands that we sellers give THIRTY DAYS for returns. Any honest buyer will know within a few days whether there is any need for a return. I no longer take returns through Ebay, but I will never "stick" another musician with any gear. Please contact me if there any problems, and we'll work it out.
