Description: Pauline Trigere was a real woman's woman who wore her own clothes. And I am sorry she is not held in the same high esteem as an Yves Saint Laurent or Halston because the quality of fabric she used was probably better than all of those guys. Yes, ghost of Yves, even you. It is the same reason I love vintage Martin Margiela - classic in the most luscious fabric. A c.1965 calf-length black wool and silk flannel dress with short sleeves and sweetheart neckline and that flares out at the hem which is outlined in black fox fur. Over that is a mshort bolero os the same black wool/silk with French cuffs, a single covered button that the hollow of the throat and black fox fur. The silhouette is amazing. Both are lined in prfect black silk charmeuse. This was a woman who demanded the best, and it feels that way. I am sorry you can't just touch it now but trust me, I have had a lot of vintage pass through my shop in almost 30 years and Trigere never disappoints. No shoulder pads, back zip on the dress and a Montaldo's label also sewn in (this is vintage St. Louis). Shown on an 8 dress form, it is pretty dang true to an 8 but a taller 8. The Met Costume Institute has a very similar Trigere piece in their permanent collection but their bolero has no fur. Dress bust 34", waist 30", hips 40" and length 46". Jacket is 16" shouldet to shoulder, outer bracelet length sleeve 21" and length 16". Both pieces are in thoroughly gorgeous condition. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am always happy to help.
