Vintage California Map Silk Scarf Tourist Landmarks Souvenir 34 x 33 Hand Rolled

Description: This beautiful vintage California souvenir scarf is 100% silk and measures a generous 34" x 33". Disneyland is notably absent from the major landmarks depicted in the graphics; Disneyland opened in 1955. But Knott's Berry Farm, the amusement park that opened in 1920 in SoCal, is shown. The lack of Disneyland helps us to date this scarf to the 1940s or perhaps the early 1950s. The scarf has a map of California in the center, and a wide border comprised of various must-visit tourist sites in the Golden State: Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls, Olvera Street Los Angeles, Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood Bowl, Rodeos, Rose Bowl and Tournament of Roses, Pasadena, Farmer's Market, China Town, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Fisherman's Wharf, Redwood Highway, Knott's Berry Farm, Ghost Town, Lake Arrowhead, Mission San Juan Capistrano 1775, San Francisco Cable Cars. A large covered wagon with a pioneer family honors early immigrants, and an impressive California Grizzly Bear (state animal) guards the Great Seal. There is also a retro camera filming dancers in a salute to Movie Set, Hollywood Cal., and a fishing boat off the coast of SF Bay. The central map notes all the major cities and geographic features of the state, and several of the oldest universities as well (USC, UCLA, Stanford, University of the Pacific, Fresno State, University of Redlands, Cal, Mills College). The scarf is in excellent condition. The edges are neatly hand-rolled and stitched. The colors -- lime and grass green, violet, rust-orange, light blue) are still vibrant with no fading. There are no holes or tears. I see a few very tiny (I mean VERY tiny) marks; see the closeup photo of one corner, by the Rose Bowl). It's just a gorgeous piece!
