Description: Vintage Ceramic Trivet Tile Iznik Style Turkish Pottery Art Floral Bohemian Highly decorative and beautifully executed in the style of traditional Iznik pottery, originally produced between the 15th-17th century. This particular coloration originated in the middle of the 16th century, when the potters in Iznik began producing multi-color frit ware tiles (as opposed to blue & white) to decorate the imperial buildings. This also marked the introduction of the red color in tilework. The red carnation was a frequent occurrence as far as floral motifs were concerned. No chips or cracks - white spots are due to light reflecting in the glaze. It measures approximately 7" diameter and weighs 13oz. As with any pre-owned item and even a new one, it is possible we might have inadvertently missed some imperfection during its inspection.
