Vintage EXCELLENT 1940s Stetson Beaver Twenty Taupe Sz 7-1/8

Description: Excellent! Vintage very late 1940s Stetson Beaver Twenty, Taupe, size 7-1/8. We know the tag states size 7 but this measures to a PERFECT 7-1/8, read below.You can see the size tag still has the OPC part still there, it was found under the leather sweatband. So the tag was breaking apart, the O.P.C. Part broke off the lower part. We taped it all together. We are placing this under the leather sweatband.This tag states $20 and that’s matches the TWENTY on the leather sweatband. This was an expensive hat back then!Dating this was easily done. The liner has the “Onion-Skin” type liner cover. This was used between 1948-1952. Also the O.P.C. Tags were only added to hat during those years. Post 1952, Then the thin plastic liner cover was used. Onion-Skin was a pre-Plastic cover that you see nowadays on nearly every hat that is sold. This one is NOT torn or broken. Because of natural aging, it is still clear enough to read what’s underneath. As soon as this was listed one of Dads hat collectors bought the Stetson hat box for $90 plus shipping. He’s been a hat collector for many many years and after he bought his first hat from Dad they have been in contact with each other now for years! Whenever he sees something he wants he now contacts Dad directly, dicker on prices, when that’s agreed, it’s sold.SO NO HAT BOX COMES IN THIS SALE. You can always find these for sale here on eBay though.It is perfectly shaped! It’s a real looker! Dad and grandson needed to do very little work on this one, just a bit of cleaning and minor steaming to get the shape back to the original style. One of Dads hat collectors continues to suggest using one of this Orange Cleaning Sponges. But Dad refuses to change his ways after 45+ years of working hats. He thinks it hiding something. You can see a bit of something on the hat that didn’t come of with his horsehair brush. We don’t know how well they work and can’t promise if it will work. It’s nothing terrible but we wanted you to know. The Taupe ones looks perfect with this fedora! This is NOT sewn onto the hat but could be by any decent tailor or the end can be trimmed off and used just as an adornment.
