Description: Where to begin with the stunning piece of art? The artist who created this was a true master at his craft of woodworking, the details are endless. Starting with the base: round substantial metal with a tall brass pole that is attached at the bottom of the horse to keep it from slipping. The horse itself if dancing on the pole with a flagged tail and flowing mane; black and white pinto pony with 4 white socks; Native American inspired details: Saddle blanket with a bear’s head on the back and feathered/fringe trim; front fringed breast collar with carved feather details; carved beads and feathers in the horse’s mane, carved bridle with more feathers and conchos – white painted teeth and a white star on the forehead. The left front hoof has the name DeCamp carved in it, and this may be David DeCamp but there is nothing like this in his portfolio, he usually does much smaller carvings. This was purchased from a private seller in Independence, MO and they picked it up in White Cloud, KS where they assumed it was carved. There is frustratingly little more information on this piece. Excellent condition, a unique and amazing piece for your equestrian/Western home. C1960s, pole measures 79 inches tall with a 20 inch wide base; horse measures 56 inches long x 51 inches tall x 12 inches wide. Solid and Heavy, this item will ship via Ground Freight.
