This fishing rod is in good shape, definitely older, the tone of the wood is stunning. The reel itself is quite heavy compared to others so it must be very durable. It is quite dusty and will need a good clean before you set up the surprise gift. This rod is used and vintage and should be expected to be in such condition (scratches and wear on the handle). It looks to be great quality materials and should serve pops well - see photos for a more accurate description. It is in as found estate sale condition and I'll leave any light dusting and cleaning up to the new owner as we do not want to risk damaging the item.
