VINTAGE INDESTRO SELECT 15 PC 1/2" SOCKET SET 12PT W/ MATCHING METAL BOX

Description: This vintage Indestro Select 1/2" drive socket set is in nice condition overall. All matching numbers (64xx) as shown on the label! I've added three pieces to make it a total of 18 items (including the box). According to Alloy Artifacts the 'Select' line was introduced @ 1961: "In the early 1960s Indestro introduced an "Indestro Select" line of sockets and drive tools, parallel to the Indestro Super line but presumably at a somewhat lower price point. The date of the introduction is based on the filing of a trademark for "Select Steel Tools", which claimed a first use date in March of 1961.The socket tools were initially marked with "Indestro Select" as a brand, but the "Select" was soon dropped in favor of just the Indestro name. The exact usage period for the "Indestro Select" brand is not known, but is likely in the range of 1961 to the mid 1960s."The condition of each 12 point socket is remarkable considering the age! No evidence of use with impact tools, a little bit of grime in some sockets. The #6470 ratchet is 10" long & operates easily; it's very similar to the Thorsen 77 design - very rugged. The finish has some wear & minor scuffing. The #6450 break-over is ~15" long, bot detent balls function well. The handle does have a minor bend @ 3" from the head portion. The box has it's original finish with scratches, scuffs & stains but no rust or dents. It measures 16" X 4.125" X 1.875" & the original tag is legible on the end.
