Description: Vintage Italian Cellini Etched Crystal Wine Glass Genuine Platinum Rim Set of 2 This is a set of 2 lovely blown crystal wine glasses in excellent condition. The platinum rim has no sign of wear, there are no chips, scratches or flea bites on the crystal. They have never been used and the original manufacturer's tag is still affixed to the base. Platinum-rimmed glassware was all the rage in the 1950's - 60's and my mother, in particular preferred the look of platinum to that of yellow gold because back then platinum was two to three times the price of gold and thus seemed more luxurious to her. Today, despite being a much rarer metal, platinum sells for less than half the price of gold. From a smoke-free, climate controlled home.
