Vintage Italian Fawn Color Damasco Damask Silk Bedspread Coverlet 86x95" Tassles

Description: Hello and thank you for looking at our eBay store and hope you enjoy what is being offered for sale. Up for your consideration is the lovely vintage silk Damask bedspread / coverlet from an recent estate sale in Monterey, California. The original owner was a tiny Italian woman who collected exquisite bed linens. The linens I purchased appeared to have never been used, just stored away. The bedspread measures approximately 76 inches wide (86 inc. tassles) by 90 inches long (95 inc. tassles.) I see no label or manufactor's mark; however, from my research, it closely resemble a Damasco a Mano S. Leucio Italian Damask silk bedspread. I believe the fabic to be silk or a silk blend, and I believe the spread to be in the 1940-1960 era. (That is when most of her household possessions were dated from)Please judge this for yourself and if you can add additional information, I'd love to hear from you! Because of having been stored, I note some, what appears to be, a few "rust" spots on the spread. I have pictured all or nearly all for you to review. They are tiny and many are in an obscure location, like right at the very top edge of the spread. The spread is photographed on my full size bed with a very deep 18-inch mattress and box springs. I believe the spread can be used on either a twin or a double bed, depending on how deep your mattress is and how long you like it to hang on either side. It is a lovely shade of tan, or fawn, in color. It is a lightweight spread, weighing 2 lb. 9 oz. on my postal scale. It is quite grand, as you can see! It has no odors to offend a sensitive nose.
