Description: Pristine 1950's mid-century modern classic handcrafted art studio ceramic pottery fish plate designed by Kenji Fujita for LaGardo Tackett, renowned California based American ceramic artist and designer. Kenji Fujita joined Tackett in 1953 as a designer and creator. This plate or shallow serving platter/bowl measures 12" long x 9" wide and is 1 1/2" deep. It is hand painted and etched using the Sgrafitto effect (Italian "to scratch".) The glaze is a creamy ivory color with sponge painted details in black and the bottom is a glossy terra cotta color.
