Description: (PLEASE READ BELOW FOR FLAWS, PARTICULARLY LAST PARAGRAPH) Nice vintage turntable sold under the name Modular Component Systems, manufactured in Japan by Technics at some point in the 70s or 80s. Basically a Technics SL-23 that has beenredesigned slightly. JC Penny had a hi-fi section back in the day, and Technics supplied turntables, which were rebranded as Modular Component System in order to appear as an in-house brand for JC Penny. You can still see the Technics logo embossed on the under side of the metal platter. Stylus is not visibly damaged, but I have no idea how many hours are on it, so might be wise to replace it if you're going to use it a lot. Has a belt that seems pretty strong and flexible. Tested it through a receiver and seems to play fine, sprayed a little deoxit on the speed pot, and seems to hold speed well. No humming or any other problems that I can speak of either. Biggest issue is the tab on the right side of the dust cover is cracked off. Might still go in far enough to hold up alright, however, the hinge itself on the right side seems slightly cracked, making it so the broken tab pops out if you attempt to close the dust cover. Dust cover can't be used properly until this is fixed, which someone with enough time and know-how might be able to do (a popular solution is to attach hinges to the dust cover itself, and then into the wooden body of the turntable). Dust cover also has scratches, which are cosmetic and don't affect function. Beatles record in photo not included.
