Description: This is a solid, heavy metal paint box, with slots to fit 10 watercolor Full Pans, or 20 Half Pans. The box has some visible signs of pitting, and texture in the interior's enamel and appears to have been recently spray-painted with newer white enamel. Overall the box is in very good vintage condition, with some small dents on the exterior and a bit of scuffing. There are two thumb loops on the bottom of the box. The hinges work very well, the box closes solidly and tightly, and there is very little (if any) rust or corrosion. There are a few small spots in the paint wells where you can see the yellowed original paint underneath, but this does not affect the usefulness or function of the box. I would estimate this box is dated somewhere around the 1930s, and is unmarked with any sort of maker or brand. Overall this is a very sturdy box, with ample room for additional paint pans outside the 10 designated slot wells, as well as pencils & brushes -- lots of customizability with this box. It has good weight to it, and will serve any painter well. Happy collecting!
