Description: Kinetic giraffe sculpture by Malcom Moran, early 1950's. Moran studied at Cornish, University of Washington, Kobe Union, Art center of L.A. and Cranbrook. His large giraffe sculptures were installed at the Northland mall in Southfield MI in 1954. He worked on advanced styling concepts at General Motors, Ford and Boeing. Morans studio was featured in the Clint Eastwood movie Play Misty for Me. His work was in the collections of Eastwood, Ethel Kennedy, Nelson Rockefeller, Bing Crosby, and many others. He had a one man show at the White House. This sculpture moves freely at the slightest breeze. Made of bent and molded steel and brass with yellow and black enamel paint. Paint has fading, scratches and some loss indicative of age. Please ask any questions. 17" tall 10" long 4" wide.
