Description: Vintage Signed Monk Rosary Early Plastic Beads Ebony & Nickel Crucifix A black oval beaded, early plastic Monk's rosary. The crucifix is made of black ebony and nickel silver. The centerpiece is silver colored metal, probably silver wash over brass, however, the brass is showing. The chain is definitely brass - very little if any silver wash. Marked Roma and ItalyEngraved on back: 9-4-63, Bro. Daniel O.S.A.Measures 20 1/2 inches longCenter marked Pax Vaticanum Secundum on one side, Roma Concilum Oecumenicum on other I think the engraving adds to its value and history. The brother must have been at the Vatican for a special council with Pope Paulus VI, who was crowned in June 1963 (and the last Pope who was crowned). Condition: Very good with wear to silver wash and some dirt buildup near Jesus' feet that can likely be cleaned off.
