Description: Awesome vintage B&W photo of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flying North American F-100 Super Sabres in an inverted four-ship “diamond” formation. The photo also depicts an interesting array of aircraft on the airfield. The photo measures approximately 8" by 10". The age of photo is unknown, but it may be from 1956-1968, since that is when the Thunderbirds flew F-100 Super Sabres. The photo is from the estate of Richard “Bubba” Heinisch (1934 - 2018), a U.S. Air Force B-47 Stratojet Navigator/Bombardier with the 96th Bombardment Wing, F-100 Super Sabre fighter pilot with the 352nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, and TWA pilot for 23 years. The photo appears to be in good vintage condition with signs of wear and age, such as fading, yellowing, scratches, scrapes, abrasions, wrinkles, creases, spots, stray marks, smudges, rub marks, and wear on the edges and corners, including minor folding in the lower right corner. There are also staple holes in the upper left corner of the photo. Some of these imperfections are most noticeable when the photo is viewed at certain angles and lighting. Some of the imperfections may be a result of the manufacturing process. Please review photos carefully, as they constitute part of the description. The item is offered “as is.” Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like additional photos. Thank you for your interest in this item.
