Description: This five section, divided sweetmeat serving tray / dish is interesting because it comes complete with the original hand lacquered, bamboo box. Made by Moriyama Mori-Machi as evidenced by the bottom stamp, and according to Gotheborg, this colorful, hand painted item dates to the early 1920's. The carrier (box) is made of bamboo and was hand finished in a red floral design. Each of the trays five compartments are decorated with colorful floral bouquets over a white background. The tray is in excellent condition except for crazing of the glaze which is perfectly normal for a piece made in that era. The bamboo box is 10" inches in diameter and the dish measure 9 1/2" inches in diameter. See the photographs for more details.
