Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a older late 1950 era Atlas CS-52 "Three Legged" microphone floor stand built in Brooklyn, NY and was a very unique model in the Atlas Corp line up. It has the two piece cast iron painted base with dual chrome adjustable risers. The CS-52 was a high quality, rugged build and was sold by Atlas for less than a decade which is why you see so few of these around. Pic # 2 is from an old 1960's era Atlas catalog showing this very mic model stand and it's basic characteristics. This CS-52 came with the Brooklyn, NY sticker and when the plant was moved the stand was still sold but with the Parsippany, NJ sticker. This is obviously the earlier model made in Brooklyn, NY. The CS-52 has the detachable two piece cast iron painted base that is appx 9 pounds in weight and had an adjustable height of 34 inches low to 62 inches tall giving you more than enough height to work with. You'll see that the base was easier to store once disassembled. By screwing the pole into the two pieces it applies tension keeping the base firmly together. This CS-52 was Atlas's attempt at making a 3 legged stand with a wider base that was easier to store but it's not the most practical design as it takes a little time to take apart. Many of Atlas's later designs were easier to break down but this stand is still a very fun piece to use and due to it's rarity and stable platform it will really do you justice and makes for a good conversation piece. It shows typical lite wear but it's still in very nice overall condition and will make a great stand for just about any situation or older mic you have. These stands are very tough and made much better than most stands sold today. One of the better 50's era examples I have seen over the years and I have only seen about half a dozen of these. The chrome on the upper riser has just lite scratches. The lower chrome riser is the same and still has the original Atlas sticker. The Atlas sticker actually looks very nice as well. The clutch mechanism to lower the top riser works accordingly and in very nice condition. The cast iron base is in pretty nice as well with a few tiny paint chips, scratches and scuff marks. It still has the original dark grey paint. The bottom of the base shows zero rust stains. The 3 original felt pads show almost no wear. This stand will accept any screw on mic or mic clip you have. Overall this stand is an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Others would probably find it nicer. Due to recent price increases at the Postal Service I cannot ship this for any less than stated. I do combine shipping which will save a lot of money if you plane on buying multiple items or more stands. As with all my vintage microphones and stands... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be re-listed. If you don't intend on buying this...do not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
