Description: Vintage Royal Bayreuth Woman Riding Sidesaddle Match Holder. A very unusual piece! In excellent pre-owned condition, no cracks, chips or other damage. Some wear to gold trim on small match cup. The explanation given me when I asked some experts in vintage glassware was that matches would go in the small cup at the top. The "textured" area around the top was for striking the match on, and the holes were for the used matches. The blue mark on the bottom dates the piece from the early 1900's through the 1920's.
