Description: VIntage SCHUMANN - BAVARIA SCH115 Embossed Multicolored Dresden Flowers Fine China. Pattern Description: Multi-colored Dresden Florals, Scalloped, Embossed Beading at Rim, Gold Trim. Made in Bavaria, Germany. Status: Discontinued. Maker's Marks: These pieces all seem to bear the printed 'Crown' over 'BAVARIA' over 'V' Maker's Mark. Although very similar to a mark used by Schumann from 1918 until 1929, that mark spelled "Bavaria' with lower case letters except for the 'B'. 'Bavaria' was slightly curved, as a smile curves upward at the edges. This set shares that same crown pattern but 'BAVARIA' is all capitalized and is straight, not curved. It also depicts a letter 'V' below 'BAVARIA'. This mark, and the obvious Dresden Floral patterns, have been attributed to Schumann-Arzberg of Bavaria, but I have no been able to narrow down any dates of their production. They are likely from the 1950's or earlier. Condition: Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. Expect light shelf wear , utensil marks or other signs of previous ownership.
